Claude Opus 4.8 Released

The model has become noticeably smarter per token, with the new low sometimes surpassing the old max. The number of tokens used at each effort level has increased, but the limits in Claude Code have also been raised. The most important thing for me is that the model has become noticeably more honest. It cuts corners less, ignores problems less frequently, and will more often acknowledge that it doesn't know something. The price per token in normal mode remains the same, while the fast mode has been made three times cheaper. They also promise the release of Mythos in a few weeks.
