Leak of GPT Image 2 on the Arena

Twitter is speculating about the upcoming release of GPT Image 2. The alleged model has already appeared on Chatbot Arena under the names maskingtape-alpha, gaffertape-alpha, and packingtape-alpha (it has since been removed). The quality is indeed very good. The model generates UI, games, and small text particularly well — apparently, it has been well-trained on screenshots. Interestingly, there is strict censorship: on the generated map of Africa, instead of Niger, the neural network output 'CIGER' to avoid issues. Also, it still makes many mistakes in text on complex diagrams like human anatomy. It's funny that at times the line blurs. I can no longer tell if users are trolling and uploading camera photos, or if these are such realistic generations.
