OpenAI
- GPT 5.5 - OpenAI released a new model, changing the base model for the first time since 4o. The model is smarter per token, but the API has become noticeably more expensive: $5/$30 per million tokens for the regular version, and there is also a Pro version.
- ChatGPT Images 2.0 - OpenAI released a new image generator. It better understands composition, physics, and space, can handle any aspect ratio. Text and UI rendering is significantly improved, but there are still some rough edges.
Anthropic
- Testing the exclusion of Claude Code from Pro - currently only for 2% of users, but the subscription genocide continues.
- Degradation of Claude Code - Anthropic released a postmortem explaining why Claude was performing poorly.
Open Models
- DeepSeek V4 Preview - a large model with 1.6 trillion parameters, one million tokens of context, and a KV-cache that is ten times smaller compared to V3.2, all at reasonable prices.
- Kimi K2.6 - Moonshot upgraded the model for long coding tasks and agent scenarios. The main focus is on parallel work with up to 300 sub-agents.
- Qwen 3.6 27B - noticeably stronger than 35B-A3B, but predictably slower due to its density.
Business
- SpaceX may buy Cursor - the option to buy Cursor for $60 billion has surfaced, or a payment of $10 billion if the purchase does not happen.
