Released.. GPT Image 1.5
Realism has been significantly improved, the model has reasoning capabilities. This is a claim to compete with Nano Banana Pro.
It is stated that the model works 4 times faster than GPT-Image-1. However, this turned out to be false.
An image at 1.5MP is generated in 60-65 seconds – compared to ~90 seconds for GPT-Image-1. There is acceleration, but it is still super slow. Nano Banana generates images twice as fast.
GPT-Image-1.5 is not yet on the leaderboards. I think it will be somewhere between Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana.
UPD: Preliminary results show GPT-Image-1.5 has become Top-1 on both leaderboards. We are waiting for more votes to make the ranking more confident.
