In the top 50 contributors to NeurIPS 2025, China and the USA are nearly equal.

In the USA, there has been a shift: corporate AI laboratories - Google DeepMind, Meta, Microsoft - are now comparable in contribution to leading universities like Stanford, CMU, and MIT. Research is increasingly shifting towards industry. In China, academic centers remain leaders: Tsinghua, CAS, Peking University, SJTU, HKUST. Strong positions are also held by Singapore (NUS, NTU), Korea (KAIST), UAE (MBZUAI), and Canada (Mila). Europe is noticeably lagging: only Oxford, EPFL, ETH Zurich, and TUM from EU-27 countries are on the list.
