Building the future of open AI collaboration
The Linux Foundation has announced the formation of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), which is supported by foundational contributions from notable projects such as Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), Block's goose, and OpenAI's AGENTS.md. The AAIF aims to provide a neutral and open framework to ensure the transparent and collaborative evolution of agentic AI technologies. MCP serves as a universal standard protocol for connecting AI models to various tools, data, and applications. Goose is an open-source, local-first AI agent framework that integrates language models with extensible tools and standardized MCP-based connections. AGENTS.md offers a consistent source of project-specific guidance for AI coding agents, facilitating reliable operations across different repositories and toolchains. The AAIF is backed by platinum members including Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Block, Bloomberg, Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, positioning it as a key player in the advancement of open-source AI initiatives.
