Advanced video translation with voice preservation
Yandex Browser has enhanced its translation feature to maintain the unique characteristics of speech when translating videos. This new generation of voice-over translation utilizes a neural network trained on hundreds of thousands of audio samples to analyze speech patterns, including tone, rhythm, and intonation, and applies these features to Russian translations. The model specifically works with English audio, allowing it to replicate the original voices and nuances of the speakers. While the translation quality has improved, with more natural phrasing and better consideration of speech styles, some users may experience occasional audio artifacts, such as echo effects, or detect a strong English accent in certain translations. The voice-over translation feature is compatible with platforms like YouTube, Rutube, VK Video, Zen, and Yandex Search, and requires user authentication via Yandex ID.
